New Scheme to Reduce the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio in Embedded System of Multi-Service over DTMB Transmission

In order to reduce the Peak-To-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in the embedded multi-service based on Digital Television Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcasting (DTMB) system, a new technique that changes the mapping method by randomizing is proposed in this paper. With randomizing mapping strategy, system PAPR is much lower and can be used in industry application without extraordinary complexity. The availability of the technique is validated by theoretical analysis and computer simulation shows that system with this technique provides much better PAPR performance while having fairly low bit-error-rate (BER) gain loss.
